Q1: Whom are your courses meant for?
A1: The executive workshops offered under the Continuing Professional Education (CPE) Framework are designed as executive development programmes for security managers and professionals currently holding supervisory positions in their workplace. Certis CISCO also offers other security related courses specifically designed for Auxiliary Police Officers and non-Auxiliary Police Officers.
   
Q2: What are the learning objectives of your courses?
A2: Generally, the executive workshops seek to further enhance the security practitioners’ level of security knowledge and professionalism. There is an Executive Certificate programme jointly offered by Certis CISCO and Temasek Polytechnic for those seeking a professional qualification in security management.
   
Q3: What is the typical duration of your courses?
A3: The executive workshops can range from ½-day course with no formal assessment, to 2-week long certificate programme inclusive of project assignment and exam.
   
Q4: How do I apply to attend your courses?
A4: Interested participants can apply via completing a registration form and emailing it to ca@certissecurity.com or faxing it to fax:(65) 6741 7652. You will receive an acknowledgement email from us once we confirm your application.
   
Q5: How do I obtain the application form?
A5: You can call tel:(65) 6842 8766 or write to ca@certissecurity.com to request for a registration form to be emailed or faxed to you. Alternatively, you can download the form here.
   
Q6: Is there a minimum qualification requirement for your courses?
A6: Entry requirement varies from course to course. Please refer to our individual course brochures for more details.
   
Q7: Who are your trainers?
A7: Our pool of trainers includes experienced security consultants, security practitioners and security qualified trainers as well as faculty members of the local polytechnics.
   
Q8: Are your courses accredited?
A8: Each executive workshop is designed to meet specific learning outcomes for the participants to be equipped with the relevant competencies in a specific area of security management. Upon completion of each workshop, a Certificate of Attendance will be awarded by Certis CISCO Academy. For the professional qualification in security management, graduates will be awarded, upon passing the project and exam, an Executive Certificate for Security Managers jointly issued by Temasek Polytechnic and Certis CISCO.
   
Q9: Are your courses eligible for SDF and SRP grant?
A9: Some of our courses are eligible for SDF and SRP. Please refer to our individual course brochures for details. Your company can apply for SDF via WDA Easynet or filling up a form. Q1: How do I become a Certis CISCO trainer?
A1: Please download the form and send the completed form together with your curriculum vitae to ca@certissecurity.com. We will review your application and inform you of our assessment outcome.
   
Q2: What is the profile of the participants?
A2: Participants in Certis CISCO’s education and training courses may range from junior to senior security practitioners, operations/management personnel from a wide range of industries (manufacturing, education, finance, government) and the public. Hence, there is no fixed profile in terms of age, gender or educational level for our participants.
   
Q3: What is the remuneration like?
A3: The remuneration is subject to your qualifications and experience.
   
Q4: What are the responsibilities of the trainer in conducting a course?
A4: The trainer is responsible for preparing his/her own presentation notes and reading materials (subject to review by Certis CISCO) while Certis CISCO will take care of essential logistics such as venue coordination, printing of training notes and stationery.
   
Q5: Where are the classes conducted?
A5: Classes can either be held at Certis CISCO Academy at No. 1 Mount Pleasant Road, Certis CISCO Centre at Paya Lebar, or an external venue. Certis CISCO will have absolute discretion of deciding the venue.
   
Q6: What are the topics that I can cover? Are there any restrictions?
A6: There is no restriction on the topics that the trainer can offer, as long as it falls within the security domain and is deemed to address specific learning gaps within the security community. Certis CISCO’s programme manager will have absolute discretion to determine if the topics are to be accepted. Trainers who offer topics in which they have in-depth knowledge and considerable experience will enjoy a higher chance of having their application and topics accepted.
   
Q7: Are there other conditions to meet before a class can be conducted?
A7: The only other condition that needs to be fulfilled to confirming a class is the participant numbers. Typically, a minimum number of 10 participants per class are required before the class can be confirmed.
   
Q8: How will I know if my class has been confirmed?
A8: We will inform you if a class is confirmed at least 5 working days before the course date. If the minimum participant number is not met, the class may either be postponed or cancelled.
